Charlene Choi and fans donate rice to charity to celebrate her birthday


Charlene Choi's (蔡卓妍, Ah Sa) birthday is on November 22nd. Ah Sa took some time off from work to celebrate an early birthday with 200 of her fans. Ah Sa have always wanted to do a lot of good deeds to help disadvantaged families. For this years birthday, fans have decided not to give her flowers and gifts, due to Ah Sa's words, but instead will use their money to buy rice and send them to charity.

In order to give Ah Sa a surprise, fans specifically asked Ah Sa's co-workers her favourite foods and specially made a cake with grilled pork and bean curd stick hot pot with Chinese broccoli. Ah Sa looked amazed and said: "I don't want to cut it". After singing the birthday song, 14 lucky fans were drawn to play an eating cookie game with Ah Sa. The scene was lively and funny.

Subsequently, Ah Sa auctioned some of her personal items and all the money raised will be used to buy rice. The rice will then be used to make more than 40,005 lunch boxes. Ah Sa said: "Today I thank all the generous little Sa melons (fan club name). Helping me this big Sa melon celebrate an early birthday. I have never thought my birthday was thins meaningful. Thank you for taking my generous words into consideration! Today we raised a total of 2000 kg of rice, helping a lot of disadvantaged families".
